FSTC candidates get Canada PR invite with scores as low as 288

FSTC Express entry candidates have been offered Canada PR invite with scores as low as 288 in a program specific draw held on 30 May. Totally 700 ITAs for Canada PR have been offered by the Government of Canada in this draw. Out of these, the number of Federal Skilled Trades Class candidates receiving the Canada PR invite was 500.

It must be noted here that only FSCTC applicants with a score as less as 288 received the Canada PR Invite. 200 invitations for Canada PR were offered to candidates who had a PNP nomination. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking Score for these candidates was as high as 902, as quoted by the CIC News.

Candidates in the Express entry pool who receive a nomination from a province get extra 600 points added to their CRS score. This explains the high cut-off for these candidates.

For example, a candidate with CRS score of 300 will have his score enhanced to 900 with a nomination.

The procedure for tie-break was used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for both these instances. For both PNP and FSTC candidates, the time and date of the tie-break were 14:52:06 UTC and 30 May 2018. This means all PNP and FSTC candidates with CRS score more than 902 and 288 respectively received the ITA. Also, those who scored 902 and 288 and submitted the profiles prior to the specified time and date received an ITA.

The 30 May draw brings the sum of all ITAs offered in 2018 to 32,200.

Program-specific draws are an exception as far as Express entry draws are concerned. Majority of the draws include candidates from all programs that are managed through the system of Express entry.
